Black plays.....Rd5!

Mach3.........4 sec.
Cougar........10 sec.
Novag VIP.....34 seconds!

The Novag VIP result was a surprise to me, but the Super VIP has trouble with this one....!

The game is from Alekhine...vrs...Teichmann

4 seconds??

do you remember if your Mach III stayed with Rd5 ??
im thinking it must have immedialty chosen Rd5 but then very quickly.. even seconds later ..switched away from it

here are my results...

Excel Mach 68000(Mach I)-after a full 10 min. 7ply ...Rb8
same result for:
Excel Mach II(Los Angeles) - full 10 min. 7ply ...Rb8

those results i can perhaps fathom
but...

again..

Designer Mach III Master-full 10 min. 7ply ...Rb8
and finally.

Excel Mach IV-full 10 min. 8ply ...Rb8

Dazed And Confused Regards

Hi Steve...Hope you are doing well today..

Yes, I have written down that Mach3 level one played Rd5....but I'm not sure what ply depth)...maybe it did change to something different..not sure.

Some machines take much longer..such as Radio Shack 2200-x
takes 7 ply ......and 3 min. 45 sec.

Mondial takes about 14 minutes to play Rd5....

regards

have a good day.

you know that the machIII machines have learning functions...

so be careful with analyzing and LATER testing positions you analyzed before.

Not the machines that Steve was using. Only version 2 and up Elite A/G had a primitive learning function.

Terry do you have your Mach III Handy?

if so could you try Rob's position ..?

curious to see if you get Rd5 in a few seconds and then if it switches to Rb8 and stays with that

Double Checking Regards

I will check it later...it's boxed up and my desk is a mess. But I will check it. I should get the same result.

I got the same result as you Steve, Rb8. Also on level 1 I got the same result as Rob. A full 3 ply search, 5 seconds, Rd5.

Cross Checking Regards,
