My hearty thanks and appreciation to Steve B. When I first started reviving my chess hobby about a year ago, I came to this forum. Steve gave my (probably annoyingly redundant) request for leads on user manual for Super Expert C an excellent helpful answer. I have since much appreciated his wit and enthusiasm for the dedicated machine segment of this hobby. He recently has given out 10 free subscriptions to Halsworth's Selctive Search - I just received my first copy last night - as his way of supporting Mr. Halsworth's efforts.

Steve you are a generous and humerous fellow. I have missed your posts while you seemed a little quiescent perhaps due to being a little convalescent. Your gestures are much appreciated.

OK, you all can go back to watching your Rybkas beat your Shredders, even though I would claim many of you might not even be able to beat your own mom.

Gushy regards

hi Mark

thanks for those kind words!
very happy to hear your subscription is online and reaching you! but even more pleased to hear that your interest in the old computers is alive and well!

good to know that the old computers are still of interest to those here

you missed the fireworks here last week i guess

i had the "audacity" to challenge a commercial post by one of the engine authors you mentioned above and i was almost tossed out of here

Enjoy your Summer Regards
Steve

Gee, I did miss that. Maybe I was the one in partial convalescence.

Since it is firework season, I will have to look that thread up.

I still bet he couldn't beat his own mom without his little SW helper.

Fightin' words regards,

OK, I looked up the thread. In general the best policy when spoutin' fightin' words is to never look back, never regret, and certainly never take the time to remove ones foot from ones mouth in order to mount a retreat.

Therefore I will boldly charge ahead, with the additional clarification that I thought his mom's last name started with P-O-L-G.

Blusterous regards,
