I thought i would give some functional criticism on Strelka 1.8 amidst the massa hysteria around possible or partial cloning (yawn).
I notice that Strelka in analysis mode only gives its evaluation score of a move when it has counted all the moves within the ply. This is of course not good when you analyze longer, because then it can take extra hours for you to see the evaluation score of the best move as it is only revealed after Strelka has had a look at all the other moves in that given ply.
So i hope that the programmer(s) of Strelka read this, or get it passed on.
BTW 1 very nice engine, partially cloned or not.
BTW 2 Chess Tiger also behaves in the manner as described above, but only in multi-variation mode. Christophe, if you read this, please answer my prayers on this matter.
That's all for now folks, after the first 30 minutes of playing around with the little arrow.
Best regards,
Kaj
