The Strelka case and the future in compu chess

Post by ArmyBridge »

Hi all
While the Strelka case is more and more clear, now we know that Osipov decode Rybka and give some light about how Rybka work, I wonder if the top programmer (Cristopher Therón, Mark Uniacke, Amir Bann, Stefan Meyer, etc) would to star to make anti-Rybka code?, it is posible? what impact will have this revelation in the chess scene? if Osipov could decode Rybka other can do the same and improve much more the code and all we will see monster stronger than Rybka in the near future? what will happen??... maybe someone have a sight of the future

that is the EVOLUTION ¡¡¡

it was question of time that the IDEAS of a program are absorbed by other programs...

who wins it is the fan and the whole group of chess, after all, many improvements happened when some programmers liberated the code of their programs...

the certain thing is that the mystery wraps to an evaluation and depth something masked in some cases (now we can see that that perhaps was deliberate...)

it was not logical that arriving to less depth some engines went so superior to others...

I hope all the other programs improve with those revelations...

it doesn't fit me the smallest doubt that fritz, junior and OTHERS tried to carry out improvements... it´s logic...

now then, it even improved but my program my favorite program "the great cat" maintaining the human and amusing style that characterizes him

greetings.

Nonsense!

Relying on GPL now no longer is a to be recommended envelope for chess programming, because it rather is generating clones and illegal patchworking.

It is strange, that fans should be the "winner" of that, where creative authors' rights are ignored, thus making those to "losers".

I don't agree
I have not said that it should "be copied" illegally

I have said that many programs improved after "FRUIT" liberates its code, (for example) and before this engine other many were published... (single John von Neumann has the sole right... ; -))

the way that the algorithms and search systems find improved it is due to the work of "some" people.

it is something like that as "windows" "linux"... close codig, open source.

from the same moment that some tricks are commented" used by some program (including the fact of showing the search depth INCORRECTLY, with the simple one made of masking the evaluation of this-that engine... rrrr....)

from that same moment the improvements will be been of a logical EVOLUTION for that? ... for that perhaps code portions can be imprisoned... but the ideas are free and they can be implemented in a different way...

soon will "happen" evident changes...

bye, since Spain.
