I'm looking for some chess sounds as wav or au files.
Basicaly I need the following sounds
"a"
"b"
...
"h"
"1"
"2"
..
"8"
"takes"
"check"
"checkmate"
"stalemate"
"pawn"
"knight"
"rook"
"bishop"
"queen"
"king"
"en-passent"
That kind of thing, so I can also have audio of the moves being played.
Can anyone help?
Thanks

Re: Chess sounds
I think the source code package for scid contains a "sounds" directory.
Try http://prolinux.free.fr/scid/

Re: Chess sounds
Yes it does, thanks a lot.
There isn't a stalemate or draw sound, but I guess I can manage without.
Thanks

In the left menu click User Files, Engines.
Then click Move Announcements at the top of that page.

Re: Chess sounds
Thats excellent, theres a womans voice too.
what does sma stand for?
Also, whats the difference between 1from and 1to?
For R1xc1, do I use 1from for the first 1, and 1to for the last 1?
And how come the letters only have From, eg Gfrom.
I will definatly use these, they are better than first one, and has every possible sound I need, except for "Promotes to".
What is the correct way to deal with a promotion?
Thanks!

Re: Chess sounds
I've tried the womans voice sounds, but its too slow, doesn't sound right, might have to go back to the first sounds, unless there are any others.
Thanks
