Dr. Wael, what dou you think about the leton gambit?,is it unsound? I read in several page that discussion... in Human level seems like the leton gambit is a bad opening (atleast for black
) and is very rare see this opening in Comp. Chess, let me know u opinion

There is no doubt that this opening is bad for black when playing eng-eng matchs,I've tried several times to find and tune particular opening lines which at least will equalize the black position, but with no sign of successArmyBridge wrote:Dr. Wael, what dou you think about the leton gambit?,is it unsound? OTOH,in human tournaments you can use it against equal or weaker opponents as a surprise and you can gain success.....

You might like this from a recent postal game of mine. It is a no draw knockout competition so a draw and both players go out.Dr.Wael Deeb wrote:There is no doubt that this opening is bad for black when playing eng-eng matchs,I've tried several times to find and tune particular opening lines which at least will equalize the black position, but with no sign of successArmyBridge wrote:Dr. Wael, what dou you think about the leton gambit?,is it unsound? Qe3 19. resign 0-1
Well played. I am afraid 15.Rb1? meant doom for me and
I can see no escape. (A comment from my opponent)
In Kosten's book on the Latvian he gives 7...Be7 as?! but I quite liked this combined with Nh6 and 0-0 giving the open f file to the Rook.
Best Wishes,
Harvey

I like this kind of wild openings, by the way what about the traxler defense?? also is rare see this in eng-eng matchs
and I think that it is a very nice weapon for black

Now the traxler defence is too complicated even for a professor in the opening theory like myselfArmyBridge wrote:I like this kind of wild openings, by the way what about the traxler defense?? also is rare see this in eng-eng matchsand I think that it is a very nice weapon for black

While I'm not an opening expert like yourself. I think White's plan of g3 and Bg2 was a little to slow in a opening that looks more about "Tempi" and "Development". White fell very behind in time (Tempi) to counter blacks coming attacks. You are right however when you state that Rb1 was the big mistake.
