initial look at different fruits

I started a quick test, 1 min and 1 sec, using noomen (chessbase) 25 test sets. I've stopped the test and have decided to continue longer testing with fruit 05/11/03. I will leave it to the testers with more resources to see if these very preliminary results reflect true differences



Shredder 10 versus

fruit 061115b 11.5-5.5 (shredder wins)

fruit 2.3 9.5-7.5 (shredder wins)

fruit 051103 5.5-11.5 (fruit wins)


I know this is too few games against too few oponents, but i have to go with the 05/11/03 version for now

ps...my longer tournement (40 moves in 4 minutes) with positional opening test set suggests that fruit 051103 may be as good as toga 1.3x4, and may be better than shredder 10 (but only 124 games so far)...

Still, I suspect someone will find a stronger setting in 2.3. they just need about 10 computers for testing (graham?)
