Rybka has its own forum.
Hiarcs has its own forum !
Why not new forums for Fritz ,Junior &Shredder ?
Why not a new (common) forum for the numerous & top secret Fruit family ?
Why not ?

Sylwy

They do not need to have forums because they got their own testers, CSS is the main forum for chessbase.Sylwy wrote:Rybka has its own forum.

A forum is not for a group of testers, it's for everyone who use the engine or is a fan of the engine, but it is likely that Stefan, Fabien and others who doesn't have a forum, do not want to want to waste their time or be distracted reading all the messages, unlike Vasik who can manage work and distraction at the same timeSylwy wrote:Hi !

They try to improve their engine on their own, and they only keep few group of testers.I bet Fabien has an ability to make Fruit play better than any programs out there considering the huge progress he made with Fruit updates in short time, but it is sad that he doesn't have time to do computer chess programming frequently or maybe he's working on it?I don't know.
Bottom line is that, having an engine forum can be distracting to some programmers.

They can support their customers, see tournament results, and have interaction with in the computer chess community without having to rely on the CCC for those purposes.
For the most part users here are quite critical of some commercial engines, and I think it is terrific that Mark and Vasik have taken the steps they have.
Hell.. everyone open a forum!
In fact I have one as well (currently being fixed as I botched it with a mod install

Hmmm.. I can't remember who it was a while ago that stated it would be a great idea if certain commercial products had their own forums to deal with customer issues and what not... he was a moderator here I think. Yep... almost sure of it.
I hate it when I can't remember little details like that....

I was kicked out of Chapters because I moved all the Bibles to the fiction section.
