Homer 2.01 launched (Windows/Linux/Mac OSX)

Post by Daniel Mehrmann »

Hello,

Homer 2.01 , a update version of Homer 2.0, is now available on my webpage:

http://www.homer-chess.com

If you have Homer 2.0 for windows installed on your system already, you can easy download a update executable with the "Homer 2.0 product updates" entry, default Start->Programs->Homer20, extract the executable in your Homer folder und register the new version as a UCI engine in your favorite GUI.

Homer 2.01 is a bugfix version only. A lot of bugs are fixed.

Homer 2.01 is now available for all Linux and MAC OSX users. :)

I wanna say thank you to Andreas Guettinger and Pradu Kannan for testing the MAC and Linux version of Homer. :)

Have fun!

Best,
Daniel

Nice Webpage, however the Download link page does not display correctly in IE7 at least.

My engine was quite strong till I added knowledge to it.

Nice idea

Well, sorry, it seems the download page is a bit buggy if you use the Internet Explorer 6/7. I'll fix it later. The webpage works for MAC and Linux users anyway. 8-)

For all windows users: Try Firebox browser.

Homer 2.0 customers can get the update over the startmenu entry and this works with IE 6/7 too.

Best,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

When installing 2.01 in the Fritz10 GUI, it wrongly detects that I'm using Vista and wants me to move all my files about! Infact it's an XP sp2 machine.....

Thanks Daniel,

I was able to download Homer 2.1 the othe day in spite of the display problem on the page. Just want you to know, I wasn't sure if you were aware of the problem. I Played a game this morning with Homer, played it in gambit style. I won't do that again, as I was busted in the middle game -3.00

Thanks Again

George and myself experienced this also.
However, if you delete the files that it advises you to, it will work.
