I only sent the final packages to Daniel on Thursaday - however it is good to have alternate downloads - thanks again Graham/Ray.

Toga II 1.3.4 is the bugfixed version of Toga II 1.3x4 and now accesses egbbs correctly.Vinvin wrote:Wich one is the strongest ?

Toga II 1.3.1 is a slightly earlier version and doesn't access egbbs.
Toga II 1.3.4 seems to be better at blitz whereas Toga II 1.3.1 could possibly be stronger at longer time controls.

Thanks to all for these new Togas!
But I need to ask something:
Which compiles are suggested for an Intel D945 CPU, and which for an AMD AthlonXP 1900+ (older CPUs).
Also, what about the 3- and 4-piece bitbases (only), with version 1.3.4?

I'm just in a break at work, so can't take a look right now.

For Intel D945 my guess is you could just use the DM 3 compile because it is meant for the P IV, that is closest to the Intel D945. For AMD I think just use the DM2 for 32 bit Windows. But to be honest most speed differences, for the working versions with the respective processors that is, seem to be marginal in the list that Dennis supplied with the compiles.
About the bitbases my guess is that Toga 1.3.4 only works with the latest DLL from Daniel Shawul, and I seem to remember that DLL only works with all the Scorpio 5 men bitbases installed. The 5 men bitbase are 340 Mb I believe, so still manageable for a fair sized harddisk. You can do some experimenting but I fear Toga 1.3.4 will not work very well with just the 3 and 4 men bitbases. But I have not yet tried myself whether everything works!

None of these compiles work in my old computer AMD-1200 (32 bit), W98.Graham Banks wrote:http://computerchess.org.uk/ccrl/Toga/D ... e_1.3.4.7z

Tried in Arena, and Winboard+Polyglot, without success.
Maybe it's time to buy a new PC...

And there is no reason to blame Che for it.
