Hey Graham, I finished your trophy edition of RomiChess

Post by Michael Sherwin »

Hi Grahm,

Actually I sent two versions to Swami. They are at opposite ends of the same idea. RomiChessNG7a is very aggressive and RomiChessNG7b is rather conservative. I had no time to test either one. When you get them from Swami you can make them available if you like. If you make them available then you can officially test them at CCRL, as learning and the use of learning can be disabled! Four new commands have been added:

learning_off, learning_on
book_off, book_on

and they are both on by default. Anytime the learn file is deleted then they will both be on by default as entries in the file itself controls how and if it is used.

I would have sent a pm, but, I thought that other Romi fans might be interested as well.

Edit: I just realized that I left the word beta in the version title. I can delete that word and resend if it is a problem.

Best,
Mike

Thanks Mike,

I was going to delete the post until I read that bit.

Regards, Graham.

Note to Thorsten and Albert - if you think that this thread should be deleted, I won't take offence and I'm sure Mike won't either.

No problem here! Going on 3 days with not much sleep to get this done. So maybe I am not thinking very well at the moment.

Hi Graham,

I wonder why this thread was moved since it is acceptable in general forum because 1.trophy 2.Romi fans 3.New beta updated available for test, these all are just infio if it weren't for you and me alone,by the same logic, EET test post from Walter should have moved from general to this section?

Regards.

I moved it because I was a bit embarrassed by a thread addressed to me being there.
It's probably of more use here anyway.

I see.No need to get embarrassed, You should be proud and say thanks that you weren't expecting it as a prize.

Walter's EET post, and authors beta request posts should be moved from general to this section, don't you think?

I am very grateful to Mike for this version. I do hope that others will get to use it too though.

I hadn't given it any thought to be honest.

Yeah Only by sending the author some 500 games or so :P

I hadn't given it any thought to be honest.
Yeah You should consider moving EET test post which should belong in here, and also beta testers requests which clearly belongs in here too.

Regards.
