Although my game was marred by errors... :oops: , I manged a pretty finish when he slipped up. Time Control was Game in 15 Blitz.

I missed a shorter mate, but this was more pleasing to the eye and I was in bad time trouble, Rg8+! was faster.

Rg8+ looks also nice.

Yes, I guess you're right, and it mated faster but I always like to put my Q enprise :wink:

I don't think that shorter is necessarily nicer but in this case the opponent can "spoil" the combination with Qb8+ followed by h2+, which makes this path a _lot_ longer!

Yes, Rg8+! mates in 3.

1. Rg8+...Rxg8 2. Qxd4+...Rg7 3. f7=Q or R mate.

Qxd4 mates in 5.

1. Qxd4...Qb1+ 2. Kxb1...a2+ 3. Ka1...h6 or h5 4. Rg8++...Kh7 5. Qg7 mate or Qh8 mate.
