Chess is a funny old game

Post by Jack Lad »

[d] 8/8/3Q2P1/8/6K1/2q5/8/1k6 w
This is drawn but add a black pawn to a6 and now

[d] 8/8/p2Q2P1/8/6K1/2q5/8/1k6 w
white can win in 94 moves with Qd7!! (all other moves still draw) :)

Here most engines will just take the pawn and draw unless of course they have access to an EGTB.
Now cracks a noble heart.—Good night, sweet Princess, And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest!

IMO, you have just given the best example for why anyone aspiring to write a top engine, should have tablebases. :(
If you are on a sidewalk and the covid goes beep beep
Just step aside or you might have a bit of heat
Covid covid runs through the town all day
Can the people ever change their ways
Sherwin the covid's after you
Sherwin if it catches you you're through

Indeed the case....
_No one can hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you can hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward….

The day I could reach that position against Rybka and draw I will still be happy! :D
