Next Week in NYC. Asking an Advice

Post by fern »

I will be there from Monday to Friday and I want to get some chess stuff, BUT I will not go outside Manhattan. Some advices where to go? I am specially after computer chess machines....ICD, painfully, is out Manhattan, as far as I know...

Hey Fernando,

I know only a couple of chess shops in NYC... The good news is that they are one in front the other.
Check this link for information www.chess-shop.com.
They are just a few blocks away from Washigton Square where you can play all day long for a few dollars with some other gamblers... enjoy your visit

Thank you, but the prices of the few articles they have are far higher than in any other site, so I will be careful NOT to go there...Surely I will get something in ant electronic departament of any general store.
After all, I am looking for just a cheap hand held unit t have it there and no more.
Thanks again

Fernando,

I will pray that the weather is excellent for your visit. In fact, you will probably want to rent an automobile just to see Your Move in Long Island because the weather will be so nice. A phone call to Steve and Gerry might even get you better service and maybe a free lunch.

PS Why do you want to stay in Manhattan for 4-5 days? Why not just fly to Reyjkavic to see Bobby Fischer?
