Game 5 Zappa vs Rybka

Post by AdminX »

Current Position plus Game Score

Rybka will need to study these Queen vs 2 Rooks endgames I could not believe my eyes when I saw this only now Zappa had the Queen and Rybka had the two Rooks. Team Rybka I do believe you now have a problem.

Re: Game 5 Zappa vs Rybka

Post by George Tsavdaris »

It will be 3.5-1.5 soon.
Rybka has to face a difficult problem for sure.
Has to win 2 games more than Zappa just to tie. I'm not sure it can do it.....

I was on the Rybka Forum earlier, and the Rybka fanboys are absolutely beside themselves.

I'm not dissing Rybka. I'm just a little excited that there might be an engine that can challenge Rybka. I remember the good old days when engines were pretty tightly bunched at the top and you actually had to take their styles into consideration.

Or in other words just stupid kids, which find every time new excuses if rybka doesn't win a game.

Rybka has to face a difficult problem for sure.
Has to win 2 games more than Zappa just to tie. I'm not sure it can do it.....
I like seeing Rybka always winning WHEN it means that Rybka is always that much better. In that way, I always know which one is best.
But now, since i still know that Rybka is ANYWAY very good, I now know that I would like to buy either a Zappa, which might be now well over Rybka (after a few tests vs other top programs), OR, even the next Rybka, might not be released before it has made the necesary improvement to have returned to being above Zappa again.
So, whatever was not greatest with Rybka, till now, will be mine in getting either Zappa or next Rybka.
That's what I want, isn't it?
Or do I want somethig to know I've got the champion?
I think I want what has the best engine, which means atleast what Rybka has been PLUS what was lacking until now.
After that, I think I'll be quite happy.
What I DON'T want is to hang around another 10 years before I decide I have the engine I want to stick with.

I am jumping with joy, I guess I am a fanboi of Zappa. This is like the best ass kicking ever for a guy who wrote a certain letter to the fide president. I blame everything on over-confidence.
