That's interesting coming from you Uri, but I feel it is a well grounded opinion. Do you think Zappa will win at least one more of it's remaining games? Or do you just expect it to be able to Draw at best?Uri Blass wrote:unfortunately I expect 5.5:4.5 for zappa so I voted for the last optionAdminX wrote:Do you think Rybka can come back to ...

I am not sure but my guess is one win for rybka and 4 draws.
Rybka has 3 whites and 2 blacks.
My guess is that she is going to win one of the white games and draw the rest of the games.

Rybka's strategy is to play for a win with the Black pieces only
Statistically Rybka wins more often with Black than with White. They just have to figure out that 1...e5 is not such a good opening to play for a win. What if White plays the King's Gambit? Seriously I don't really know anything about what openings suit Rybka best, but so far the Ruy Lopez has not been much of a success for Rybka. So tomorrow I'm predicting a Sicilian. Or do they fear that Anthony and Erdo's preparation against 1...c5 is even better than after 1...e5? Otherwise I do not really understand why they, team Rybka, don't play the Sicilian in Mexico?
(Not that I really mind to see just one opening repeated again and again, I love to see those theoretical opening duels! But today was a bit of a preparation disaster if you are trailing two points and have to play for a win with White!)

This was very informative and interesting!
On poll: "The fish is dead, long live the new fish..."
Although-I suspect Antonie is not going to give a new version in another year at least

Re: Do you think Rybka can come back to ...
Larry Kaufman Writes:
"The loss in the 180 move game was actually predicted by the opposing operator during the period when both programs scored it as around +1.80, because he knew that Rybka would shed a pawn to avoid 50 move rule draw. This can only be considered bad luck, as if Rybka didn´t do this it would have saved this game, but would sometimes cost half a point in other games. Maybe we need a far more complicated rule to cover the 50 move rule situations in the future, but we have many higher priority things to do first."
I thought it can also be considered SMART thinking on Erdo's part myself. But hey what do I know ...
