five good reasons for the losses of rybka vs. zappa

Post by eriq »

1. Zappa is a clone, oh you didn't know

2. The Zappa team found a way to dumb down Rybka, shame on them

3. Global warning helped Zappa

4. Just luck, anyone can win a few games, right

5. Zappa's team stole alien technology from area 51, yes some one will believe this one.

May be different hardware... I don't know if both run on same hardware.

6. Zappa plays remote on Harvey "Hiarcs" his machine. Not Zappa but Hiarcs with Anti_fish_modus and Hyper_modern_fish_filleting is playing.

I'd love to hear the Rybka team "excuses". For example, when arguing with Junior against remote play was, that it should not be very hard to have 2 8-or-16 core machines on-site, ready for the match, failure-free, a couple of days before the match starts...
Wonder what they think now.

Wonder how will they feel after losing their first and only head-to-head match against another engine.

1)Erdo is on a fatloss pill that makes Rybka lose ELO points.
2) Zappa is on one of the strongest chess steroids ever, aka Methyl Rybkabolone.
3) Anthony farted during the tournament and the wind came from USA and knocked the Rybka operator down..
4) Zappa is using a pre-game drink called WTF kick Rybka's ass produced by T.T.
5) Zappa is also using an after game drink to recover faster called Rybkaplenish also made by Tony Thomas.
6) I am out for now.

1. Zappa threw rotenone into the water, which kills little fish
2. The electrons Rybka used had too many miles on them
3. Bad opening book lines by Rybka (1.e4?? No wonder!)
4. Zappa stole some code from TSCP
5. Zappa played better chess?

I guess that we will hear no feeble excuses.

I guess that they are not happy about losing, but will be good sports about it. I have great respect for the Rybka team.

And how can you be so sure that they will finally lose anyway....? :D

In order NOT to lose they just need 2 wins and 2 draws in the next 4 games.
Not so improbable.....
In fact we are talking about Rybka so i would say the most probable. :D
After his son's birth they've asked him:
"Is it a boy or girl?"
YES! He replied.....

Assuming that all previous events are independent (perhaps invalid if learning is currently configured...):

To score 75% would indicate an Elo difference of 190 points. So I guess that it is somewhat improbable that Rybka will draw or win. In reality, the engines are very close in strength, so I think Rybka will most likely score about 50% the rest of the way.
