Black could only move the king back and forth while the remote black passed pawn got picked off. Later the black king would be back rank mated. There is hope for a Rybka victory.

Well the loss this morning was no more humiliating than the loss by Rybka when it had it's Bishop pair handcuffed and couldn't move. Actually I don't think programs are humiliated at all. I think they just occasionally miss the best continuation. Humans do the same thing only more often.

I knew that you would like Star Simpson. I wish that I had her athletic prowess, her steel-trap mind and her rich boyfriend and daddy.

Anthony Cozzie feels the loss deeply. When I saw the author of MChess,Marty Hirsch, at a tournament here in Albuquerque,NM, I could see the intensely personal nature of wins and losses of his program. Marty was like a General on the battlefield of computer chess. Vas and Tony are the same. If they weren't then their programs would not be excellent.

In terms of skill I would say that Vas and Tony are about equal. Both have excellent programs.
