AMD has agreed to sponsor CCT10 in the way of prizes for competitors and spectators.
The exact number of prizes will not be known until the items are shipped, but I have been told:
T-Shirts
Pens
Stickers
Processors (recently announced revisions)
The website will be updated in the next few days when I have some spare time to reflect the exact number of items coming.
Unfortunately due to press requests, I was unable to procure actual hardware to be used by competitors, but for future events this is now a possibility.
I am in talks with another potential sponsor for some $$$ to help pay for the commentator, Chess.fm, and shipping costs of the prizes.
Stay tuned.

I was kicked out of Chapters because I moved all the Bibles to the fiction section.

Did this come about from any of the contacts I gave you? (not that it matters but I'd like to tell 'em thanks, particularly Mark, if any of them helped...)

If I am not mistaken, Mark initially directed me to the press corp of AMD, who then directed me to Matthew Davis who is the one that got everything together.bob wrote:

Sometime this week Matthew will be shipping everything to me as he just returned to the States from a trip, and had to wait until the newer processors were announced before releasing them to me.
So yes, in a round about way Mark was the person that got me in contact with the correct person.
Please thank him for me

I should also add that either late November or early December I will be holding a Computer Chess demonstration where a local computer company will be donating a computer to anyone who can actually beat one of the programs on site.
Where it is being held is not yet set, but West Edmonton Mall is the likely spot.
Since it is the largest mall in the World (I believe it still is), traffic should be quite high.
I will be sending emails off later this week to authors I would like to showcase. There will be an even mix of commercial and amateur programs displayed.

He's only at the top of the amd-64 food chain, so he's a good one to get help from.Peter Skinner wrote:If I am not mistaken, Mark initially directed me to the press corp of AMD, who then directed me to Matthew Davis who is the one that got everything together.bob wrote:

Knowing the right people to contact certain makes a HUGE difference.
Matthew Davis was incredible at trying to get me everything I asked for, but unfortunately there were so many press requests for hardware I was unable to secure machines for competitors.
On a side note, I have been in contact with an AMD partner, and they are looking into getting me some machines.
As AMD is now the principle sponsor for the event, everything seems to be coming easier to attain
