pgn modifications

Post by claytonwsmith »

The problem is that commonly when you see a game in pgn the game is shown in text format and when you copy the game the next line character causes problems with reading the pgn. I know that I could manually do the changes but is there any other way that I could do it without going through the tedious process.

Under normal circumstances, there shouldn't be any problem with PGN copy & paste... Which program do you use to read the PGN? In other words, if you copy the complete PGN of a game from an internet page, where do you try to paste it into?

(I do not know all programs, but if a chess interface supports copy & paste of PGN, it always worked for me with Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V.)

I don't know but I think that unnormal circumstances are the problem. For some odd reason I tried doing it this time and there was no problem at all. But still think you for your help.
