When I run tournaments on a quad, I often like to run the mp-engines with 2 thread, varying if it's ponder on or off.
However, seems like the new Zappa doesn't respect the setting for 2 thread - playing a sm-engine, all 4 is in use.
I had to enter to the value manually in the uci file, since the GUI just keept saying "auto". After entering it, it's blank when in the GUI - and apparantly it doesn't work.
I "entered" the value by copying from the setup of the former Mexico-version.
Did I screw it up?

Henrik, the new Zappa has an option to check and see how many threads the computer has and to use all the CPU's available. You can change the option inside the configuration files (from auto) to the number of processors you want to use to fix the problem, or so I think.
Code: Select all
#Threads: search with multiple processors?
threads auto-

Thx Tony,
Seems you're right. Doesn't seem to work when I edit the uci file, but the ini file should do it - I was an ignorant to it's exsistence
However, since I like the setup of a sp, a dual and a quad verison, seems I need to install 3 seperate versions with each it's own ini file...
Well, that's manageable anyway;)

Henrik, you can see how many cores are running
pressing Control+Alt+Del. Then chose performance.
It´s the Task Manager of windows.
If you are running with 4 cores, for example, you will
see 100% in "CPU Usage". For 2 cores, 50% and for
1 core 25%.
