Seeking another 'utility function' ...

I am looking for a utility which will:
-take as input a FEN position + a set of moves, and
- confirm (or not) that the moves are all legally playable from the position

You might wish to try the SAN Kit. I read about it in an interesting article, Can a spam filter play chess? I believe the SAN Kit can compute all legal moves given a FEN string, so you just need to sort your candidate move list and the generated list and compare them.

Thank re the 'SAN Kit': will investigate.
Only now do I realise that the moves I am checking are in LAN, which might add a slight wrinkle to proceedings.
