The link takes me to a page i have seen. It does have the source code for Viper, but no executable. and when i click on "Glaurung" all i get is glaurung versions to download. I dont see the word Viper anywhere.

No, the truth is that there never was, and never will be an executable file on my Viper page. There is a reason for this: The program was never meant to be used as anything else than a simple learning tool for programmers wanting to implement a parallel search. People who want to play chess should download Glaurung 1.2.1 instead. Viper is nothing more than a heavily lobotomized Glaurung 1.x, and doesn't contain anything which is not also present in its bigger brother.
However, of course I have no objections against other people providing executables. Viper (like Glaurung) is free software, and everybody is welcome to do whatever they want with it (as long as they give all users of a derived program the same freedom, as described in the GPL). This includes using it for purposes completely unrelated to my original intent.
