CCT10: Round 2 results

Post by Peter Skinner »

All results are on the website.

ZCT and Symbolic have been withdrawn due to missing two rounds.

Where is this in the rules?? I came near the end of the second round, it could have been played, but my opponent didn't show up.

I know it was my fault for not showing up, but jeez... Not a good experience for my first CCT.

In previous years, if a participant missed two rounds they were withdrawn.

The game couldn't have been played in time, as there was only 25 minutes before the next round.

I'm sorry that it turned out this way, but others have lost games due to interface problems, or disconnection issues, and they have accepted the ruling on the server.

I hope you will participate in the blitz tournament however, tomorrow after the 7th round.

It is a known free engine that play for years in wbec tournaments

http://wbec-ridderkerk.nl/html/1stdiv.htm

It is not a top engine but better than most engines and
people who follow computer chess know about it.

Yeah, I understand, I'm just pretty bummed out, being the first public appearance of my program. I guess I'd get about the same result anyways though... ;)

Yes.

It lost on time because the PC crashed and could not be recovered on time for resuming.

In the case that both programs were forfeited, the 0:0 will stand.

The best command to find CCT10 games that are in progress is:

Code: Select all

g *-rCsS
Occasionally you'll get a non-CCT game in the list between two computers, but the chances of it also being at the time control of 50 3 is very small.

Like Uri said, it is a rather well known engine. To get a rough estimate of strength I include a snippet from my rating list. Note that my doesnt have Fritz, Junior, Loop or Strelka.

Code: Select all

26 Crafty 21.6 JA : 2666 36 36 283 51.9 % 2653 21.2 %
 27 Thinker 4.7a : 2658 41 42 215 40.5 % 2726 23.3 %
 28 E.T.Chess 13.01.08 : 2653 56 55 128 62.9 % 2562 21.1 %
 29 Frenzee Dec 07 : 2640 57 58 132 37.1 % 2732 13.6 %
 30 Aristarch 4.50 : 2637 43 43 215 37.4 % 2726 19.1 %
