There are several different versions of Shredder 11, available from http://www.chessbase.com/ and http://www.shredderchess.com/. It is not the kind of product that is available discounted, but you may be able to save a little money by changing the currency you pay in.

The single version is either € 49.95 or $ 59.95 so I think it is worth paying in dollars. I bought Shredder very recently, it seems a good product, not that much has changed since Shredder 9 but Stefan did not have too.

Those Shredderbases do take up quite some main memory if you load them, 157 Mb, it's okay for analysis but I don't know if I would use it in engine-engine matches, although I do not much like constant harddisk access of tablebases either, at least not just for playing testgames. So letting Shredder 11 just access bitbases instead of tablebases is better I think. I think the positional evaluations have improved and since Shredder 11 also seems to be good in FRC, I'm trusting that some of that comes from better evaluation of early openings as well.

If you are a former Shredder customer you get a discount. I forgot to use my discount when I bought Shredder 11, so Stefan told me that he will double the discount next time I buy a product if I contact him early.

I think the Chessbase.com GUI looks much more finished than the ShredderChess.com GUI and they are both the same price!
