As an added bonus, here are 1-cpu compiles for much older pc (up to Pentium1 minimum). Standard releases are for PentiumIV and above.

Denis,
Can I please have a Core 2 Duo 64-bit compile? I've heard that Toga was translated to bitboards, so 64bit will have a decent speedup.
Thanks alot.

Re: Toga II 1.4 Beta 5c is Out
Thanks Thomas for Toga 1.4 and Denis for the compile. Great that there is now a MP version of Toga!
The testresults on Dual or Quad are not yet spectacularly better in the CEGT list that Werner Schüle posted in the Tournamant and Matches Forum, but I'm sure there must be a way to get more out of Toga. I had been thinking what would happen if the two, or more, threads do not follow the same search processes, I think there must be a way. One of the strengths of Toga is maybe that it can get a lot out of special rules for PV nodes, maybe it is necessary that only one of the threads is searching the PV and the other concentrates more on refuting bad lines. It is just an idea, I have no concept for how that should be programmed.
I see that the 3.1.2 MP version was likely just based on the same code as the 1.4 Beta from Thomas, the sources have a lot in common. I just had a quick look at it so far. So another great source for ideas
My own ideas for passed pawn code to offset the King Safety changes are still in a very preliminary stage but no real hurry I think. There is enough to test right now!
Best, Eelco

It seems the Makefile is missing from the src directory.
And it seems that the sources have been switched to be Windows only?

const int NumberThreads = 2;
Should definitely be a UCI parameter and definitely not a hard-coded constant.
Otherwise, we might as well just use:
const int MaxThreads = 16;
as the count of threads to use, if you have to recompile every time to change it. That design decision makes no sense.

Hello Lonnie and Juan Pablo, there is no 64 bit version because being a non bitboard program, Toga does not profit from going 64-bit. It would be just as fast as the 32-bit!LJC wrote:Is there a 64 bit ver?Daniel Charles wrote:Hello
