Deep Fritz 10 update question

Post by Kaj Soderberg »

I got the DF10 update via Playchess and the system tells me that the version now is from May 2007. Do i now have the latest update with the improved MP support, or does that have to come from somewhere else?

Thanks in advance for information.

Best regards,

Kaj

Hi Kai,
please have a look in the common Files\Chessbase\engines folder and tell us the version of your Deep Fritz 10.engine
Mine here is 10.1.0.0

Hi Werner,
Mine too, version 10.1.00, dated March 3, 2007.
So this is the improved version?

Thanks Werner,

Now i'm motivated to do some testing with DF10 again. I see it is doing very well in the CSS Online Masters, even reminding Rybka of its mortality. Maybe i can discover the engine all over again, having been not so impressed by the first version. BTW There is something Frans M.&Co. do not seem to get right: Zugzwang in the middle game. Anyway, there must stay room for improvement :)

Cheers,

Kaj

Hi,
In my rating list Deep Fritz 10.1.0.0 is rated only 20 Elo behind Fritz 11 after playing more than 200 games at long time controls....It has a very decent playing style and is much more aggressive than Fritz 11 :!:

Aha, so Fritz11 tries to fight the Rybkas and other Fruits with their own means: boring but faultless, like how Genius played in the past. Maybe better for the result, but give me some fireworks eight days a week!
