Zappa Mexico II books available

Post by Daniel Mehrmann »

Hello folks !

I've created 4 different internal books for the new Zappa version.
You can use this books via zappa.ini.

If you copy a book into the same folder like zappa executable stays, you can add in the zappa.ini file:

Code: Select all

#book: path to opening book
book zappa_big.zbook
zappa_big.zbook (31mb)
http://www.homer-chess.com/data/zappa/zappa_big.zbook

The bigest book, well tuned and with over 700.000 positions and up to 60 plys variants.

zappa_medium.zbook (22mb)
http://www.homer-chess.com/data/zappa/z ... dium.zbook

It's a medium book, tuned and with over 400.000 positions and up to 40 plys variants.

zappa_small.zbook (8mb)
http://www.homer-chess.com/data/zappa/zappa_small.zbook

It's a small book, not tuned and with over 200.000 positions and up to 20 plys variants.

zappa_12ply.zbook (for cegt/ccrl/...) (3mb)
http://www.homer-chess.com/data/zappa/zappa_12ply.zbook

It's a tiny book, completly neutral and with over 50.000 positions and up to 12 plys variants.

Have fun !

Best,
Daniel

That's good news for me. I tried to make my own books a while back, but the book maker wouldnt work here due to some missing dlls. I guess the big book is the best one??

I'm not too familiar with how zappa works. I have shredder gui with external books. If i could convert book to .ctg that would work for me.

Just a suggestion- but i think if the book you refer to is completely neutral for CCRL and CETG testing, it would be better to remove the name Zappa from it. I will go out on a limb and speak for both testing groups in saying i dont think we could use it with the name Zappa tagged to it. It just doesnt look good up front.

Tony Thomas

George, you seem to be wandering through unknown terriotories lately. George, only Zappa UCI can use the Zbook, it is not a GUI book. I doubt that you guys allow the testing with each engine using a different book. It is pretty much a better replacement for the Public.zbook I have been using.
