Is there a way to make romi use ctg book in chessbase

Post by ozziejoe »

I know romi using its learning file as book...I'd like it to use an opening book that i specify until move 16, and then switch to its learn file. Is this possible? At the moment, romi seems to ignore the book i give it in chessbase.

Try to repeat the configuration (book assignement). I don't know how you use romi, offline normally, offline in an engine match or -tournament, or online. Online, it happened to me once in a while that I assigned a CTG book but the program wouldn't use it. I think that also happened to other users. I repeated the process and checked it another time before clicking OK in the dialogue box, and then it used the book as intended. I do not know if that problem is solved in newer or updated interface versions.

If that is what happened to you, then it is a problem independant of the engine.

Normally in Fritz, the CTG book will have priority as long as playable book moves exist. I never had problems if I combined that with engine specific books (although, I didn't try that combination of books online).
