ChestUCI 4.9 with new feature

Post by F.Huber »

Hi,

after my last update 4.8 (which I didn´t even announce because of just
improving the hash memory limit for computers with 2GB RAM or more),
this new release ChestUCI 4.9 has got a new (interesting?) feature:
an EGTB-analyze mode! 8-)

You can find this new mode ´EgtbAnalysis´ at the end of the list for
the option ´SearchMode´ (in the UCI options dialog), together with
2 new entries ´EgtbCache´ and ´EgtbPath´.

Simply enter your ´EgtbPath´ (separated by ´;´ for more paths), set up
any EGTB position (up to 6 men), and start the calculation:
You´ll get the EGTB evaluation of the current position and a list of
all (optimal) moves for the current side.
It is possible to use this mode (as usual in ChestUCI) either in normal
´playing´ mode or in ´analyze´ mode, and you can go through the complete
variation, select alternative moves (if there´s more than one solution),
go back and even enter your own moves (to see their evaluations).

Since this EGTB stuff was quite new for me, please report any problems
with this new EGTB-analysis mode (although I hope you´ll find no bugs  )

This new ChestUCI 4.9 is available here:

or here (if my site is not available at the moment):

PS. Don´t use Arena 1.99-Beta5 for ChestUCI (especially for this new
EGTB-mode), because it will not work correctly (or at least as expected)
due to some very annoying bugs in this Arena Beta-version(s).
The best GUI for it is still Arena 1.1 (and maybe also Shredder Classic).
