Which Toga plays FRC ?

Post by Spock »

I saw a new version of Toga which played FRC - it was CMLX if I recall. But I think it was going through a few beta releases. Anyone know it's current status ? When it is stable I would quite like to run it for the CCRL FRC list (single CPU)

Hello Ray,

As far as I know Teemu's Toga CMLX could play Chess960 now, I did not yet try castling positions but I think that works, only the present version can't do bitbase probes. Toga CMLX does load them but probing seems to fail and the engine only slows down. So there must be a bug in the new code. Some of it is fairly complex. But I have no doubt that Teemu will get it sorted out! Even without bitbases the version from Teemu now is already strong.

I tried to make my own version but I'm not very happy with it yet. Does work but I would like to change some of the History Pruning but that is now very complex.

Teemu will post in the Rybka forum I'm sure if there is a version that can do probes.

Best, Eelco
