Latest Intel 45 nm CPUs

Post by Erik Roggenburg »

Does anyone know when the Yorkfield (quads) CPUs are going to be available to the masses? And, I don't mean the Extreme versions - just the "normal" versions.

Also, any clue as to when Wolfdale (duals) CPUs are going to be back in stock at the vendors? Everywhere I look they are on backorder. Including newegg.

I think the latest ETA was "march". So should excpect them in a few days/weeks.

overclockers.co.uk have a few wolfdales in stock now.

Wow,the E8000 series is here with 6MB L2 Cache and the E8500 with ease can be overclocked to 4 Ghz

Thanks for the link Nid :D

NP.

Yes those duals are BEASTS. excellent performers, considering most apps today can't use more than 2 cores they are really great value.

The quads should be nice too 8-) .

I can't wait. They are quite the bargain, too. I think the E8400 at 3 GHz might be a sweet deal.

Can't wait to see the quads. I hope I can afford one that checks in at 2.8 Ghz or so. I'll bet it OCs like crazy.
