I don't think 1.Bxg7 is a draw since after 1...Kxg7 2.Qg4+ if:

That was what I responded to. If it leads to a draw, then a program that thinks white is worse would play the move to take a draw instead. If a program thinks white is better it will not make that move as a draw would be worse.

I didn't look at the position myself, nor with Crafty. Just took the "may lead to a draw" and pointed out that such positions are more about "does the program think it is ahead or behind as white, rather than "can it see this capture leads to a repetition draw?"

That was what I responded to. If it leads to a draw, then a program that thinks white is worse would play the move to take a draw instead. If a program thinks white is better it will not make that move as a draw would be worse.

Yes i understand that this was what you meant, i just said that it's a good testing move eventually since it wins.
If it was a draw then of course since white is not worse in the initial position, the testposition of Bxg7 would be bad.

What about 5...Qxg4!?

1.Bxg7 Kxg7 2.Qg4+ Bg5 3.fxg5 Qxg5 4.Nh5+ Kh8 5.Rf6

5...Qxg4 6.Rxh6+ Kg8 7.Bh7+ Kh8 8.Bf5+ Kg8 9.Bxg5 Ne5 10.Be2 d4 11.Rf1 Be4 12.Nf6+ Kg7 13.Rh5 Bf5 14.e4 Kxf6 15.exf5 and white is better(a Pawn up and some initiative while in the initial position it didn't have any of those).

Or white can try instead of 14.e4 the 14.Rhxf5!?
