Re: Test Position: Rxb4!!!
Well, my engine wasn't able to find the move but Glaurung did:
Sorry for the raw console output but I have yet to find a decent gui for my new Mac.
So Glaurung needs about 4 Minutes on my 2Ghz-DuoCore to find the move.
best regards
Roman

It's quite usable, but not for analysis. If it only had an analysis option to get neat analysis output. I already asked Tord for it some time ago, but he tends to forget such things.

Re: Test Position: Rxb4!!!
Thanks, so far I only knew about Tords Scatha even though there is a nice screenshot of the Glaurung GUI on glaurungchess.com. I completely missed this nice GUI!
After a quick test I think I can live with the analysis-output format but so far I'm not able to copy any content of the analysis window and I don't know how to stop an engine once it is in analysis-mode.
best regards

Re: Test Position: Rxb4!!!
Fritz 10 finds Rxb4 about 3 times faster than Fritz 11 or Rybka 2.3.2a 32-bit, but also considers Ba4.

Re: Test Position: Rxb4!!!
Exactly that is my problem too. It would also be nice to have a chronological output of the analysis. Some kind of log in a window that allows to copy. I think it is not difficult to change, but I didn't have time to look into the provided sources and I'm not very used to Objective-C.Roman Hartmann wrote:Thanks, so far I only knew about Tords Scatha even though there is a nice screenshot of the Glaurung GUI on glaurungchess.com. I completely missed this nice GUI!
After a quick test I think I can live with the analysis-output format but so far I'm not able to copy any content of the analysis window and I don't know how to stop an engine once it is in analysis-mode.
best regards
Roman

Re: Test Position: Rxb4!!!
This is a very difficult position for the Checkov version of Toga, I tried about a dozen different versions but only one can solve it within half an hour. A problem: I changed the sources after making this version, now I have to see if I remember what I changed
