Do they have existing customer discount like Hiarcs or Naum? What's the expected release date of Rybka 3?
Thanks in advance

Re: Yet another Rybka Question
I believe there will be no discounts at all for Rybka 3.
My guess for the release date of Rybka 3 + Aquarium (the new GUI) is June.
Probably Convekta is anticipating/waiting for ChessBase 10/Deep Fritz 11; meanwhile ChessBase is anticipating/waiting for Aquarium.

I've read a lot of stuff in the Rybka forum regarding the new release and I mean a lot of stuff,I didn't read anything considering your question....It's considered as a new line product hence no discountTony Thomas wrote:Do they have existing customer discount like Hiarcs or Naum? Re: Yet another Rybka Question
So I guess I wont be buying Rybka 2.3x...Only reason I did not buy it was because no other engine was clearly ahead of Rybka 1.0 beta and now that Hiarcs 12 and Naum 3 are clearly ahead, I changed my mind. Since they do not offer a discount, I would rather wait, and play around with weaker engines in the mean time. Can you believe that there are more than 100 engines freely available that I have never played with??Dr.Wael Deeb wrote:I've read a lot of stuff in the Rybka forum regarding the new release and I mean a lot of stuff,I didn't read anything considering your question....It's considered as a new line product hence no discountTony Thomas wrote:Do they have existing customer discount like Hiarcs or Naum? Re: Yet another Rybka Question
The engines that you posted, I have played with 80% of them, not exactly the latest version, but its nearly impossible to play with every version of every engine with a single computer. I kind of highlighted the once that I can recall without looking at the rating list. Dont waste your time on Fafis, its a poor clone.Dr.Wael Deeb wrote:Oh,I do believe you, just take a look at my waiting list engines, yet to be tested and included in my rating list:Tony Thomas wrote:So I guess I wont be buying Rybka 2.3x...Only reason I did not buy it was because no other engine was clearly ahead of Rybka 1.0 beta and now that Hiarcs 12 and Naum 3 are clearly ahead, I changed my mind. Re: Yet another Rybka Question
Why don't you ask the rybka people rybka-specific questions? Looking at their forum when not occupied with the freestyle the other thing most talked about is Rybka 3. Given that there could be an elo increase of say 50 points over 2.3.2a, why not call it 2.4?Tony Thomas wrote:Do they have existing customer discount like Hiarcs or Naum? Re: Yet another Rybka Question
Dude, chill, this is a chess forum, I can ask questions to people that I know instead of signing up at another forum. Since when is version number an issue for anyone? Chessmaster 11000 is much weaker than say Thinker 5.0 C were as Rybka 2.3 is much stronger than anything that is currently available.terminator wrote:Why don't you ask the rybka people rybka-specific questions? Re: Yet another Rybka Question
I did not say you had to sign up. If you casually glance at their forum, the rybka 3 question is "red hot".Tony Thomas wrote:Dude, chill, this is a chess forum, I can ask questions to people that I know instead of signing up at another forum.
You are new to chess then or have missed these people who cry out for a new version only to complain that the newer version they have bought is not much stronger than the old version they had.Tony Thomas wrote:Since when is version number an issue for anyone? What would you do or say if you discovered version 3 is only 50 or 30 elo stronger than 2.3.2a?
