Joanna 2002 technical problems

Post by Tony Thomas »

In some games Joanna just stops moving and loses on time. I checked the arena debug and it shows the message "Joanna is thinking". Is this a known problem?? Rest of the games she plays fine and doesnt lose on time..

Hi Tony,

Joanna uses a unique algorithm to calculate time/depth of search and it was written for 2002 cpu speeds.
I had to tweak it a bit for modern fast computers. Looks like it's still in need of some fine tuning. I'll look into it.

Jim.

Thanks Jim, in the mean time, I will move it to the reserve list...
