inserting ELO into games

Post by ozziejoe »

hi folks,

is there a way to estimate ELO for engines based on a computer game database, and then insert the estimated ELOs into each PGN.

This would allow me to calculate the average performance of a certain opening (e.g., from chessbase opening report), and unconfound the strength of the engine with the strength of the opening

help?

Use Bayes ELO then use embayes from Norm Pollock's 40H utilities

excellent. thanks. I have great nostalgia for these command line programs

I have windows XP. Can someone with windows vista tell me, do these dos based programs still run, or have they finally trashed dos.
