CEGT - rating lists June 8th 2008

Post by Werner »

Hi all :-),

our updated rating lists are now online and can be found under the attached links.

40 / 120:
Next week we will make an update of our 40/120-list for dual/single engines with matches from Zappa Mexico II, Glaurung 2.1 and Fritz 11. Results of the actual matches you will find as usual in our new forum: http://cegt.foren-city.de/
We have already posted here the results of a new CEGT Marathon 40/400 match.

40 / 20:
This week we added 1838 games to our list. See more in our list "Games of the week". In total our 40/20 list is based now on 250.264 games! We can celebrate a small jubilee: 1/4 Million of games!

New engines:
This week we have 2 new free engines in our list: Hermann 2.3 and Popochin 3.2.
The start rating on Hermann 2.3 w32 1CPU is 2425 after 166 games. This is an improvement over version 2.0. Next week with more games we will see if the engine can top these 22 points. We will start testing 64bit-version with 2CPUs.
The 2nd new entry Popochin 3.2 was not so successful: The rating is with 2303 now 18 points behind Popochin 3.1

Hi Tony,
this is a cheap Shredder Version with some restrictions:
32 bit, without online features, no variation of the engine parameters.

Werner

Is it available only in Germany?? Is it safe to assume that it is significantly weaker than regular Shredder 11?

Edit: I just checked out your rating list and noticed that CEGT got a rating scale that is significantly lower than others, so the Shredder SE engine is indeed the same..

Hi Tony,

as Werner pointed out, this "special edition" has some restrictions:

* you can't change engine parameters
* engine has no access to the nalimov tablebases during search, if a position is on the board, tablebase access is made by GUI
* I don't know, what Werner exactly means with "without online features". This version has 12months access to CB-Server schach.de
* price is € 29,99 including CB-10-GUI, book and big database, but I think it is only available in Germany in bigger stores
* as per our tests with 40/4 this engine is not weaker than "original" Shredder 11 with 32bit and 1CPU

Should I have some free CPU-time, I will make some tests for 40/20 to have a better comparison
Best
