Echelon chess engine by Scott Gasch

Post by Norbert Raimund Leisner »

Hello together,

program "Echelon" is missing on URL http://www.playwitharena.com
"Engines, Links". Scott told me by EMail " the code is available but you have to build it yourself. I think some people have built it and have binaries for windows around the internet somewhere. Also note the name of the engine is monsoon."

Does anybody know where a WinBoard-compiled version of "Echelon" /"Monsoon" exists to send it to the following EMail-address:
michael@playwitharena.com (*zip or *rar-files, please)

Regards,
Norbert

Hi Norbert,

is Scott still working on this? I presumed his focus these days would be on Typhoon.

Regards, Graham.

Right.

I compiled Echelon and released it a while back.
Scott Gasch asked me not to make it available as
the code is old, hasn't been worked on for years and
is buggy and no longer supported and he would much
rather everyone focus on his latest engine Typhoon instead.

Jim.

Maybe that's what authors get when they decide to rename their engines
