Is this portal interested also in chess variants? Is there a special place around here to post on them?

Not many are interested, but those that are, are interested a lot!

I just learned Fairy-Max how to play Berolina Chess. In this form of Chess, the Pawns capture straight ahead, but move diagonally. I still must make WinBoard handle the Pawn moves correctly. Without special support, it thinks all Pawn moves are e.p. captures, and many Pawns disappear from the display! I have n experimentl version that fixes this (by knowing variant Berolina), but it does not handle genuine Berolina e.p. capture correctly. This is a tricky problem, as unlike with normal Pawns, for Berolina Pawns there is no 1 to 1 reltion between the square where you capture to and the Pawn that disappears.

CRC now also works. And I can even do Courier Random Chess!

I like it also, but i don't know if i'm good at this.

Crazyhouse indeed is one of the best Chess-variants for me.

The best 8 for me are:
•1),2) Atomic Chess and Dark Chess with a big difference!!!!

•3)Gothic Chess(while this is not exactly Chess-variant).
•4)Progressive Chess(especially Scottish and not Italian).
•5)Three Checks Chess.
•6)Giveaway Chess(The so-called Suicide Chess or AntiChess or Losing Chess)
•7)Crazyhouse Chess.
•8)Ambiguous Chess.

I would like very much to play Dark Chess against other players through the internet(since this a computer only game, meaning it can't be played over the board), and i'm preparing a wish for Winboard_F or ChessGUI to implement it, but i don't know if what i ask is easy to do.

The same effect and even better would be a Dark Chess engine, so that i could play with it whenever i want. I would ask this also.
But i'm afraid that its implementation would be very difficult, not because it's difficult to create it but because it's difficult to create a decent engine AI, that would manage not to lose 1000-0 out of 1000 games. :-)
What i mean is that even a novice AI in Dark Chess is very challenging and difficult to create.

Anyone know of some programs that plays crazyhouse? I know Sjeng does but my spyware find something in the program :)

If chess wants to eliminate draws then crazyhouse the way to go :) I dont think Chess960 the answer.

TJchess and SunSetter are Crazyhouse engines.

TJchess10x8 even can play a crazyhouse version of Capablanca Chess. (I never tested this, though, and I am not sure WinBoard_F would support it without protocol issues.

Really?
Anyway what H.G.M said, as also Zillions of Games can play Grazyhouse.

I don't like Chess960 either.

Here is one nice win of me in Crazyhouse Chess(that was one of my first games in that variant) against one top rated player on a site.
I think despite he was the top rated, the level of his play was not high, so i guess the level of play in the site was not high also:
