Grapefruit is an opensource chess engine based on Toga II 1.4 beta5c.

Who is behind the developement of this project :!: :?:

Author is Vadim Dem aka Thinkingalot (a Russian student)

I believe GrapeFruit is still active at Playchess with some nice nice wins against known strong engines. My friend Ed Nemth was one of its victim (using Rybka 2.3.2a) as reported. It's a blitz engine as it has high nps and fast search. There's not much difference in strength from the released Togas, but probably a different style of play.
