sadly however it will not play very strong chess
only at about 1700 Elo perhaps a bit stronger
as a collector i am trying to decide if i should buy more then onethe last chess playing robot using an arm for piece movement was released over 26 years ago and they are worth several thousands of dollars today
Investing should be an arms length transaction regards

Seems like the arm moves to the initial position quite often while making any move. A bit more intelligence in arm movement would have made it better/faster.

I understand this point. But, I still feel that the same objective could/should have been achieved at the start and end of every move, instead of returning 2-3 times during each move.smirobth wrote: Hi Steve and Anil,
There is almost certainly a sensor that detects when the arm is at home base, and by returning frequently to base the robot can make sure the arm doesn't gradually migrate off target.
