InfinityChess will also show WC Games (Semi-Live)

Post by AdminX »

"InfinityChess provides worldwide connectivity for human-to-human, engine-to-engine, and human-to-engine matches.

There could be no better point of time for the release than the upcoming World Championship Match between Anand and Kramnik in Bonn (Germany), October 14th until November 2nd. We will not miss the extraordinary chance to present all 12 games semi-live on our server."

hi Ted
i tried downloading the file to play games on the Infinity Chess Server and the file is something like 138mb?

this seems kinda large to me especially when the files to play on Playchess or ICC are a fraction of that
am i doing something wrong and perhaps there is a smaller file just to play games on the server?

A bit over the top regards
Steve

Hi Steve,

No, you did nothing wrong. The file is compressed with 7zip.

http://www.7-zip.org/

So you will need to download 7zip to un-compress its contents. I think the real size is about 538 MB. Which is as you say a very big download. It is still only 32-bit and not 64-bit compatible yet for what it's worth if you use a 64-bit OS.

No, it's a full GUI like Chessbase, Aquarium or Arena.

It looks like Linux and MacOS users are left out in the cold.

Not to mention those that use "none of the above".
