If Romi is up for a ICC marathon match with LearningLemming (both engines with learning turned on of course) let me know...something like playing all day on Saturday with autorematch at a time control like 5 5 or longer might be fun. And provide Romi a nice learn file for the upcoming tourney :).

Five comments, one negative, four positive:

1.) How do you know that the human is not using Rybka 3?

2.) Romi was designed to be strong but beatable so that humans that are creative can win

3.) Learning will correct this bad play and the human will have to find more creative way to win

4.) The new Romi beta that I am about to send you is stronger. However, the creative human can still win.

5.) Romi is still in the very early stages of development and much is still missing. It may seem that I spend alot of time working on Romi, but that is an illusion. When I am out working I think of small quick changes to make that are tried in passing and tested while I am out. If Romi could go commercial then progress would be faster!
If you are on a sidewalk and the covid goes beep beep
Just step aside or you might have a bit of heat
Covid covid runs through the town all day
Can the people ever change their ways
Sherwin the covid's after you
Sherwin if it catches you you're through

Thanks Sam,

I hope that Tony thinks that what you propose is a good idea! :)

Tony will have a new Romi beta in a day or two.

Hehe, LearningLemming is being developed the same way :). I have time to do almost no work on it, but it only takes a few minutes to do something minor and set up a test.

Humans still get occasional wins against LearningLemming on ICC (and off, Swami posted a couple of his) despite being one of the highest rated amateur computers on there. Those wins aren't just missing knowledge either, often strong tactical attacks by humans will work. Crafty gets its share of losses too (humans just love to play crafty on ICC). There is no shame in losing to humans :).

I thought he could be using an engine, because he never made a blunder, Romi's eval kept dropping. However, he has played around 700 games, so I doubt he is cheating. Dont you think it would be easier to play the learning on games at home? I mean, there are people at my house who wants to use my computer until I set up a router and set up the old computer upstairs somewhere. Also, Romi has problems with ponder on, I am not sure if it is fixed with the beta version. By the way, I did play two games against you the other day, both of them were draws. OK, here is a funny story for you guys...

Here I am watching a game of Romi against Crafty..and I am bored.

I started looking at the shouts..Some girl says, we are about to go eat dinner.

Tony : You shouldnt talk about food on icc, there are hobos here, mainly me. You dont know how hard it is to connect from a box..
Tony : yay I found an old pizza
Castle00: Castle steals Tony's pizza
Tony : pisses on castle..
Castle : Kicks Tony
Tony : begs him to kick more..
Castle :pull's tonys pants down..

at this point I got mad..

Tony: Stuffs his weiner in his mouth.

Nobody friggin pull my pants down..hahha.

Currently I am blocked from doing all kinds of kibitzing, whisper, messages, shouts etc..

Tony  Tony  Tony :x ,

If your account can not kibitz then you can not operate Romi in the ACCA championship tourney, RIGHT :?:

Please tell me that you are kidding :!:

Okay Tony,

This is what you do.

Contact the icc admin and tell them that you were eating a hotdog at that moment and that the hotdog is what you were refering to in the above chat.

It might work.

Already tried that.. I just asked have you ever heard of oscar meyer? No response yet, the revocation is only temporary. Who knew that you could get revoked for saying weiner..Anyway, once you are included in to the tournament all those other things doesnt apply. For example, I am censored by Chessthinker (for cussing out the autotalk), yet I was able to play against it in the last tournament.

8-) Okay, but it might be a good idea to ground your inner child for a couple weeks!
