Whata..Hydra engine??

Post by ArmyBridge »

I found in the net a engine called Hydra, under the legend
"All right now is Halloween, and it's time to present "The Hydra Engine .... this powerful chess engine must be used with caution, is the stable version of the Hydra for Mac OS, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 98 and the like. Should be used on programs such as Fritz or preferably Arena Chess and must be accompanied by Rybka or strong as Hiarcs engine to correctly calculate the positions open and successfully addressing modules"
Sometime ago, I Think, in my playchess database Found some game´s played for a Hydra engine, but a don´t put attention to this games because I thought that was a joke, Who knows something about this engine, is a clone?...

Hola Armando,

It's actually real, a real clone of Fruit 2.0.

On a side note, What happened to Hydra?? Chrilly claimed that it scores "80%" more than Rybka 1.0 (when it was released), I wouldn't believe his claim unless he proves it.

so would he return back to comp chess and let hydra play in atleast one tournament where Rybka is in?!

Saludos a España 8-)

You mean the ipapyrus.abk :!: :?:
It's private till now, only my brother Tony has a copy of it....I have improved it a lot lately and renamed it to iDeeb_Script.abk....
I'll send Tony a copy these days and if you wish I'll send you a copy too....I feel very comfortable when I use it in my tournaments because it provides a good opening theory for the bookless engines under the Arena GUI :D
