Too expensive for most CCRL testers, although I know that Tom is going to test Deep Fritz 11 4CPU.
I think he's the only tester prepared to buy it. We don't get it for free like SSDF.

Unfortunately Tom only seems interested in 4CPU testing, so it's unlikely to appear in our other lists at this stage.
CEGT might test it though. Ask Werner.
If it manages to get the second spot on 4 CPU, it is probably safe to assume that it has become the current number two single cpu engine as well. It's not like Fritz is well known for its scaling. If I were you guys, I would split the money and buy the damn thing, then all of you can use it..Atleast you and Ray can use each others engines.
I don't know whether other CEGT-testers will buy DF11 (or just did so), I only know that I will definetely not buy it because I'm only interested in the engine and don't need server-access, 3D-gimmicks and a slightly changed GUI as I have Fritz 11. For "engine-only" 100 Euro (i.e. ~ 130 USD) is much too much for me.

Hi Wolfgang,
I'm pleased that CEGT are testing Deep Fritz 11 1CPU. It will be interesting to see whether there's much difference in strength from Fritz 11 under those conditions.
Thanks for the links. I'll be following with interest.

we also had no chance to get it. CB is not as generous as Vasik is, but much more expensive...
I also read somewhere that SSDF get their hardware provided too?
They were the only testing group for a long while and they do test under conditions that probably please the commercial companies/developers more, so I guess it's hard to begrudge them those rewards.
Although some engine authors are very generous to both CCRL and CEGT, it is still an expensive labour of love for the testers in our groups. The money barrel is not bottomless for many of us.
