On Female Chess Computers

Post by Steve B »

Long before the birth of Rybka ..female dedicated computers have made their appearance

the First such computer was the Mephisto Polgar named after the then young Judit Polgar
she was released initially at 5 Mhz in 1989 and rated 1968 Elo
Our own Ed Schröder programmed her
when she grew a bit older a 10 Mhz version was also released and this clocked in at 2045 Elo..

What a coincidence. yesterday friday I slaughtered Alxandra the Great in a Ruy Lopez. But she said "Oh God" several times...

Looking for another sessions with her regards

I wouldn't mind being mated by Alexandra, and would be the first time that I enjoyed being mated by the computer. :P

Steve
I had two 5mhz Polgar module sets, just last week I traded one set
plus a cash adjustment for my RISC2500.
I remember about a year ago I told Ed Shroder on the other forum
about seeing his name on the Polgar module startup display. He said
he was surprised those things still worked. I'm surprised at the price
they bring, one Polgar set in an exclusive board on ebay at the
moment:

as Fernando said, Long live the dedicated's
all the best
