I would like to use SMIRF under Shredder Classic, what is fun is that there's only an adapter to make it Winboard compatible, and Shredder Classic doesn't accept Winboard.
So the solution seems to put an adapter for an adapter:
SMIRF > Smirfoglot(Winboard) > WB2UCI
I'd like to know if there's any problem in doing this, before I try this.

Re: Arranging adapters
Hi Uly,
With that setting, you may test the free versions of Smirf.
You should have the code to be able to test MS175e etc.
I had included both free Smirfs in my tests where I had
use excellent utility Smirfoglot. Testing newer versions of
Smirf could be fun but I havent the code.

Re: Arranging adapters
I have the code since I translated SmirfGUI to spanish. I'm glad to heard that this setup works.
The problem in ChessPartner (in where I don't need WB2UCI) is that I don't seem to be able to set hash size, so it's stuck at 8MB.

Re: Arranging adapters
The Rybka guys were claiming to be using 3 adapters in sequence yesterday. I didn't follow the discussion but there was a WB/UCI/whatever issue that I didn't try to follow since I only deal with WB protocol myself.Ovyron wrote:I would like to use SMIRF under Shredder Classic, what is fun is that there's only an adapter to make it Winboard compatible, and Shredder Classic doesn't accept Winboard.

Re: Arranging adapters
It's moot, just using Smirfoglot makes the engine lose on time in about 40 moves with 3 seconds increment.

They were only using 2 adapters or so I think, UCI2WB (polyglot) + engine client that talked to the server in Europe+ Rybka..bob wrote:The Rybka guys were claiming to be using 3 adapters in sequence yesterday.
