Updated info about InfinityChess (Live-updates & Freesty

Post by Ciron »

InfinityChess is still and officially a BETA test version. Although we have more than 500 registered users, it's not so easy to get users playing regularly on the server, especially when they had to manage time consuming installations and some functions didn't already work as they should.

Two weeks before we had an engine tournament with 32 participants, won by SpaghettiChess ahead of Flyingfatman, Sniper and Hoshad. The first two players were tied and met in a Blitz playoff (4:3). Also we had a series of exciting WCC sessions during the match in Bonn. Information to be find at our website, where you will also find a detailed info about the Chess Olympiad in Dresden rather soon.

Tomorrow, Friday Nov. 14th, will be the Welcome Freestyle Tournament. Come and have a try, meet some experienced centaur players there.

Also I like to inform you about the new LIVE UPDATES on InfinityChess server:

"...IC's live update works similar as Operating System's (Windows) Live update, and we can give cent-percent guarantee that this process would not make any sort of problem for any operating systems or any PCs. In our scenario, we would be having various type of PCs, hardware configurations, operating systems, etc.; and the Live Update once working properly will support all of them without any negative issues, and also it will make sure that a user will be getting full-fledged support from the operating system he/she possess.

The advantages of Live Update function are as follows:

- ClickOnce deployment allows publishing Windows-based applications to a Web server or network file share for simplified installation.

- ClickOnce applications can be simply installed using two mouse clicks and all other installation procedure will be managed by ClickOnce & Operating system by itself.

- Highly secured & trusted application deployment allows all windows platform support without further headaches.

- Elevated trust and signed assemblies assures safe usage of executables and assemblies and illegal manipulation of assemblies from unauthorized parties.

- Confirms windows vista elevated access automatically to all operations

- Application updates are automatically queried and installed to proper registries as the vendor updates are available.

- Never harms the target computer since no assemblies are replaced or no unauthorized registry manipulations are done while installation.

- Application files are safe on personalized hidden folders of operating system." (by Technical Manager)

The 64-bit version is internally announced for November, but the not link has been deleted in order to stop any confusion (caused by a lack of information).
For playing freestyle in centaur style a 32-bit machine should do.

Thanks for your attention!
