Thanks Graham!

highlights so far:
Amundsen 0.70 is a bit stronger than the previous, but it has a serious bug, it doesn't seem to understand 3-fold repetition and will get a draw out of a won position frequently.

Re: The great 40/120 tournament

highlights so far:
Amundsen 0.70 is a bit stronger than the previous, but it has a serious bug, it doesn't seem to understand 3-fold repetition and will get a draw out of a won position frequently.
Counter is another engine that has this problem.

Hi Kenny,

How does the game The Baron and Twisted Logic ends? Does Twisted Logic playing a drawish game thinks its ahead until it reach the fifty move rule?

The game got locked up early enough, and Baron felt it was +1 from just before move 40 to about move 160 While twisted evaluated it close to 0.

after move 40
[d]8/1b1r2k1/2q1prp1/2p1Q2p/p1Pp1P1P/6P1/PPB1R2K/4R3 w - - 0 1

move 80
[d]2r1b3/8/3kprp1/2p1R2p/p1Pp1P1P/3B2P1/PPK5/4R3 w - - 0 1

move 120
[d]1r2b3/8/3kprp1/2p3Rp/p1PpBP1P/P5P1/1PK5/4R3 w - - 0 1

Then the game starts livening up, and things get swapped around
move 160
[d]8/8/4p1R1/7p/4kP1P/6P1/1r2K3/8 w - - 0 1
and we are at a dead draw endgame.

move 167
[d]8/5r2/4R3/7p/8/5k2/2K5/8 w - - 0 1

This is where twisted thinks it has a +2.47 it's highest eval in the whole game. Only takes 108 more moves before the draw is forced.

I had removed the endgame heuristic for the last version for simplicity's sake but I think I need to put it back to avoid the engine playing dumb in the endgame.

Thanks!
